QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
OBJECTIVE
The Accounting Manager oversees all activities of the department including the management of general accounting tasks, supervision of the end-to-end business accounting and reporting functions as well works with other departments heads and corporate accounting in deciding on complex modeling of the business’ financial approaches and internal controls across the company.
Some key responsibilities of this role:
- Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures and processes by establishing a Chart of Accounts and ensuring the application of the Group Accounting Policies and Procedures as well Local Regulation;
- Manage a team of 24 members, directly and indirectly Responsible for monthly / quarterly / year-end consolidated financial closing activities (local/statutory. Capital Markets Board (SPK) and Group Reporting (IFRS)
- Lead the external audit processes for both the group reporting and local financial statements as well to liaise with corporate accounting team on the related matters;
- Ensure the proper bookkeeping and balance sheet accounts reconciliation in accordance to IFRS, Local GAAP, Corporate Accounting Practices, including inbound and outbound processes;
- Monitor and manage the month-end accounting processes within the Company and ensure the deadline accomplishment for all entities
- Define and maintain Internal Controls and SoX Key Controls pertinent to the area and to contribute with other departments on the SOX Key Controls definition;
- Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues, respecting IFRS and local GAAPs
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested;
- Define and monitor the relevant KPIs for the area and determine actions to correct the deviations;
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, maintaining strong employee relationships, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions;
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Graduate in Accounting Administration andFinance
- Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience in a corporate environment or large organizations
- Experience in Turkish GAAP/Capital Markets/SPK
- Big 4 Experience is a plus
- Advanced in English
- IFRS Knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting theory, principles and practices
- SAP Experience is desirable
