Production and Maintenance Engineer

Omya is a leading global producer of industrial minerals – mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite – and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals. We seek for a Production and Maintenance Engineer who will be based in our Gebze Plant.

The ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualifications and skills:

·      Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering,

·      Minimum 2 years of experience in a production based organization as Production - Maintenance Engineer or relevant;

·      Strong interpersonal & communication skills

·      SAP knowledge

·      Good team member

·      Analytical thinking, result and quality oriented approach,

·      Fluency in English both written & verbal

·      No obstacle for travelling, 

·      Planning, supervising and controlling of production - maintenance operations in the dry production plants to ensure continuity of production without any interruptions and also considering health & safety, quality and financial issues.

·      Supervising workers, maintenance and production technicians and all contractors on site.

Basic responsibilities:

Production

·      Responsibility in the production area, planning, controlling and monitoring

·      Ensuring product reliability by understanding the technical needs for the reinforcement material of customers

·      Tracing performance on production level and explore opportunities with necessary analysis for further improvement projects

·      Following-up key process performance indicators and managing process performance  

·      Maintaining lean manufacturing activities like 5S

·      Leading teams for continuous improvement by acting in close cooperation both foreman and blue collar employees for operations

·      Check the contractors to ensure safe at work sites 

Maintenance     

·      Responsibility in the maintenance area, planning, controlling and monitoring

·      Managing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities in production lines to provide continuous and high performance production

·      Taking actions and making root cause analysis for the breakdowns and repeating defects

·      Analyzing and following production departments requests.

·      Monitoring material consumption and other parameters. 

·      Check the contractors to ensure safe at work sites 

Project

·      Managing projects according to the contractual and technical guidelines.

·      Planning and executing the projects within defined time, quality and budget constraints

·      Follow commissioning and start-up stages

·      Develop continuous improvement projects to eliminate losses and to increase machine efficiencies

·      Check the contractors to ensure safe at work sites 

Purchase

·      Ensure sufficiency of spare parts and consumption materials, make orders for the purchase unit.

·      Participate and follow up the procurement of new project and plant machines & equipments

·      Taking care of incoming materials. 

Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities

·      Responsibility for documentation concerning production & maintenance.

·      Supervising of contractors to be in line with company health & safety rules.

·      Planning of training for manpower, implementation and documentation.

·      Waste inventory and arrangement of disposal
