At Yılmaden, we work together across all business units located in 7 different countries with one objective that is extracting the valuable minerals such as chromite from the ground and turn it into ferroalloys, chrome metals and chemicals.

For our growing organization, we are looking for an Mine Laboratory Assistant Manager to be based in Maslak Office.

Job Description

·     Ensure and follow up the sustainability of the Laboratory Quality system at mine laboratories in the standard of “ISO\IEC 17025 general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”; performing activities in accordance with international standards

·        Provide solutions (technical, financial & human), which will make the Mine Laboratory department more effective and competitive

·        Communicates & ensures department adheres to QA regulations & ISO Certifications requirements and ensures a high level of accuracy in sample prep and analysis

·        Ensure that the tests and measurements requested by the customers are carried out

·        Ensure the continuity of quality in laboratory efficiency, overseeing the control of sample collection tests, equipment checks, maintenance, calibration, and other testing processes

·        Timely provision of services to clients and continued monitoring of performance in relation to turn-around times

·        Ensure the integration of the LIMS program in each mine laboratories

·        Ensure the improvement and coordination between LIMS and SAP systems

·        Submit regular reports and suggestions for improvement on the laboratory’s strategic and operational issues/concerns

·        Actively utilizing XRF, AAS, and ICP laboratory analysis equipment

·        Perform round robin tests

·        Develop, submit and review operating budget with senior manager

·        Track & justify expenditures. Create ways to optimize financial resources

·        Preparing/presenting monthly/yearly activity reports by validating analysis data from mining laboratories (using z-score, F Test, and ANOVA Test) and calculating uncertainties

·        Lead and develop staff in all mine laboratories. This includes recruitment of new supervisors, setting objectives, evaluating performance & expectations, coaching and mentoring, working jointly with direct reports in the development of their career path, ensuring that adequate training is provided.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering

·        Fluent in English

·        Minimum 10 years of experience with the mining industry in a laboratory studies and management role

·        Up to date knowledge of process and automation & legislative regulations

·        Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook, with a "can-do" attitude to be able to work & motivate others in a fast-paced operation environment

·        Strong time management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills

·        Strong sense of urgency & the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment

·        Ability to work with and motivate employees with different personalities

·        Strong attention to detail & record keeping skills

·        Strong team building, leadership, coaching, mentoring and training skills

·        Ability to accurately follow procedures and instructions

·        Up to date knowledge of laboratory testing process

·        Excellent computer skills

·        Manage the scheduling and workload for lab and field staff
